![]() ![]() My favourite part was the fact that Anand wore sneakers to their wedding reception, and their wedding was at the royal wedding level type deal.Īlso, just a few weeks ago, Sumeet Vyas (Rishabh) got married, and the haldi photos are A+. ![]() Also, a family friend trolled us on social media, by asking if we were married then why did her bio still say single, it was hilarious.Īlso, like three weeks before the release of VDW, Sonam Kapoor (Avni) got married to her longtime boyfriend, Anand Ahuja, and it was quite the wedding. So, the proposal with the back of the case facing my friend, and it was very casual. Being the only people in the theatre was also really fun because it meant we could talk during the movie which in a movie with subtitles, it can be helpful and at the end of the movie we could dance in the aisles without getting dirty looks.Īlso, this movie was highly inspiring, afterward, we went to the mall, and went to Hot Topic, got matching Harry Potter ‘Always’ rings and I “proposed” to my friend in the combined style of Kalindi and Rishabh. Basically, we got a luxurious private screening, with a huge screen, quality sound, subtitles, and popcorn. After having gone to the Incredibles 2, where we could not sit together because every seat was full, except for some random ones, we had the whole theatre to ourselves. I love Bollywood films, and when I saw that this movie was playing at a theatre near my aunt’s house in Portland, I jumped on the chance, and my friend succumbed to my overpowering will. I dragged my friend, who this movie was probably slightly inappropriate for her, but it wasn’t rated so how could I know, and our parents weren’t there. The experience of watching this movie was fantastic. ❝Save me when I end up murdering everyone.❞ It tackled so many topics, from female masturbation to being fat to divorce to being a working woman in a male-dominated field, and so much more. While the movie centers around one woman getting married, it’s mostly about friendship. This is my favourite Bollywood film I’ve seen to date, and Fawad Khan wasn’t even in it! It was one of the most hilarious movies I have ever seen but it was also very full of heart, and it had some valuable things to say about being a woman and the expectations and double expectations that come with that identity, especially within the South Asian community. ❝What the fuck is happening here yaar?❞ yaar means dude. The film is set against the backdrop of Delhi, where the girls are born and brought up, their trials and tribulations in the modern day world, regarding family acceptance, marriage & societal perceptions. Ten years later when these four best friends reunite, they don’t realize how much li fe has changed from what they expected.
